Although the 50th Division and 149th Brigade was heavily involved in this action, it was the turn of the 4th Battalion to spend time out of the line. With the exception of four days in the support lines (1st - 4th), the Battalion was held in Divisional Reserve. 4th Battalion War Diary<\/strong><\/p>\n

September<\/p>\n

25th, 26th, 27th, 28th<\/p>\n

The Battalion remained in DIV Reserve and supplied working parties both by day & night, varying from 100 men to the whole Battalion, working on roads and trench drainway - On 26th another draft, 139 OR, joined the Battalion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Morval - Military Units<\/strong><\/p>\n

50th (Northumbrian) Division - Consisted of the 149th (Northumberland) Bde, 150th (York & Durham) Bde and 151st (Durham Light Infantry (DLI)) Bde.<\/p>\n

The 149th Bde was comprised of the 1\/4th, 1\/5th, 1\/6th and 1\/7th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers.<\/p>\n

The 150th Bde was comprised 1\/4th Bn East Yorkshires, 1\/4th Bn Green Howards, 1\/5th Bn Green Howards and 1\/5th Bn Durham Light Infantry.<\/p>\n

The 151st Bde was comprised the 1\/6th, 1\/8th 1\/9th Bn - DLI and 1\/5th (Cumberland) Border Regt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
